September 22, 2012 - September 29, 2012: Week 38 on the RCI ©® Calendar.

Last week was fun with the Endeavour's departure. This week we start with an air show. The guests are enjoying it. The most excitement to me here at the resort is meeting people from all over the world. Here is a Photo of guests from Tauranga, New Zealand. Barry & Susie Heginbothem and Russ & Diane Jackson.

Departing Kennedy Space Center the Shuttle Endeavour piggybacked on a NASA 747 fly's over Beach Island Resort on its way to Houston, Texas. From Houston it was flown to California where it will be retired.

Space Coast ? You Bet. Here is a photo of NASA taking a photo of Beach Island while at the same time we are taking pictures of them. Look close and you will find Beach Island.

The rabbits are still here & everyone enjoys them as well as still enjoying the Northern Curlytail. Mr. Latoski feeds one in the photo below.

Lots of excitement this week. NASA has been trying to get the Space Shuttle Endeavour loaded on a 747 to move it to California. Fran has been out there as Media helping www.AmericaSpace.com .

We asked for rain, we got rain over the weekend. Finally today it is "SUNNY", a beautiful day, Old Florida. The weekend was still blessed with beautiful guests. Mr. & Mrs. Jimenez brought a friend down to fish. The Waves were way to high but we all enjoyed Mr. Jimenez cooking. He also gave me some photos of his Track & Field activity. He wins a lot of trophies. Not bad for a 79 year old gentleman. He is still working active also as an attorney in Orlando, Fl.

Lots of sunshine and very little rain. The guests are happy but the grass is turning yellow. I need the good old days back where it rained between 5 and six each night while the guests were gone to dinner.

Karen Zezula emailed me these photos when she got back to Vienna. She said Nico is still talking about the 'hotel with the pool' and Raffaela about 'the bunnies'.

Fran fussed at me for not putting any of her Easter 2012 pictures on this page. Everyone loved the decorations.

John Isaak has taken up fishing and today came in with quite a dinner.

Wayne: Here is a brief summary of our reflections on BIR over the past 5 years. Please use the summary as you continue to promote BIR.

Jean & I have been BIR owners over the past 5 years and have enjoyed each stay more and more. This year for first time, I took up surf fishing on the Atlantic. If you are a fisher-person than you will truly like BIR's location on the Atlantic seacoast in Cocoa Beach. Your walk to the beach takes about a minute and then you can begin casting and reeling in the fish. I can not guarantee what and how much you will catch but just being able to do this without driving, parking, walking a long distance makes the experience one you will want to repeat.

BIR is truly a unique place. While Jean & I have stayed in resorts for many, many years we find ourselves most pleased that we are BIR owners because of the warm family atmosphere. Since we own the same weeks each year we find ourselves anxiously waiting to greet the many true friends we have made at BIR. We sit around most days and just visit, or we go out to dinner, take in a movie, or the girls go on shopping outings, and we also team up and play trivia at a local restaurant. And if you want your own swimming pool and hot tub than BIR is for you.

So, if your looking for a lay back friendly spot to relax on the ocean and share it with family and friends than give BIR a stay and before you leave make sure in ask Wayne how you to could become an owner. Kindly, Jean & John

Well both Beach Island Resort Flowers & Northern Curlytail Lizards are doing well. Fran & I have protected the lizards now for 18 years. I made a deal if they would eat the bugs I would keep the kids off their back. They not only eat the bugs but also the grapes Fran keeps feeding them. Everyone keeps on enjoying them.

The Beck family has been with Beach Island a long time. It is one of the great weeks of the year for us.

114, 103, 112, 117, 116 & Fran slipped into the picture on the right.		We also had new guests this week. 2 birds and a family of Rabbits.

We didn't get the rain but we got an awesome rainbow for several hours. Everybody was taking pictures, I hope I get a better one than this.	Mr. & Mrs. Prudhomme enjoy the last bit of their month in the sun. They are from the Montreal, Canada area.
